welcome

I am a singer-songwriter weaving hard-won truths, soulful vocals, rhythmic guitar and contemporary sensibility into memorable indie folk music. My music tells stories grounded in vivid detail and will take you on a journey filled with heartache, love, loss and redemption.

My debut album “This Is How I Pray” was released on the 5th of May 2023. A lifetime in the making, this record focuses on the small life events that are often overlooked, minimized, or erased - I wrote this collection of songs from our fundamental human need to be known in all our complexity and contradictions.

Through these songs and stories, it is my hope that you feel seen, heard, and know that you are not alone in your questions. I hope these songs show the power of vulnerability and the joy that comes from being loved just as you are.

If we haven’t met yet…

My name is Erika and I am a recovering perfectionist. For too many years I held myself to impossible standards. Being a perfectionist didn’t mean I made anything that was perfect – it just meant that I didn’t finish anything because I was endlessly trying to make it better. Perfectionism was a way for me to hide – hide myself, hide my music, hide my art - I don’t want to hide anymore.

I laid down perfection and released my debut album, This Is How I Pray, in May of 2023. It is filled with imperfection and hopes and dreams and prayers. I practice laying down the illusion of perfection in my parenting, my artistry, and my life on a near daily basis. When I look around me there are no straight lines in nature and so it is on these wild winding paths that I now make my way.

If you would like to join on this journey please sign up for my emails and let’s be perfectly imperfect together!
